Still recovering from three years of conflict that left an estimated 250,000 dead, Bosnia’s infrastructure and economy are in ruins. Thousands are displaced within the country and around 1.5 million fled the country, living as refugees overseas.

Unemployment and poverty are rife and there is an acute housing shortage.

Around twenty five percent of the population lives below the poverty line
