Islamic Relief are still on the ground in Tunisia giving assistance to those fleeing the crisis in neighbouring Libya. Two thousand food packets and hygiene kits are being distributed each week in the area of Tataouine, providing people with vital support.
“We are also conducting health, shelter and child protection activities. Islamic Relief will continue to support those seeking refuge in Tunisia, allowing vulnerable people to face this challenging situation with dignity,” said Islamic Relief aid worker Jenny Cosgrave.
635,000 people have failed to return to Libya having left because of the fighting, with over 106,000 people now living in Tunisia and Egypt.
Islamic Relief has been working to support refugees in Tunisia since the outbreak of the conflict.
