Quality Food

Sponsored by Al-Faisal’s Restaurant on Stoney Lane, in Sparkhill; this was Islamic Relief’s most successful fundraising dinner ever held in Birmingham. Support also came from Britannia Property Services (UK) Ltd, Giro Foods, 2i Management Ltd, Catalyst Regeneration (UK) Ltd, and Stratford Solicitors. The businesses together donated over £41,000.

The remaining £32,000 was donated by concerned families and individuals, who were motivated to dig deep into their pockets by stories not only of pain and suffering, but also of courage and hope in the face of adversity.

Making a difference

Zaid al-Rawni, West Midlands area fundraiser for Islamic Relief said:
“This event went as well as any of us had ever dared to dream. The generous support of those who attended will now allow Islamic Relief to provide not only aid, but also hope for the future. We will now look to use this money to fund water, health and education provision in some of the most deprived and long forgotten corners of Africa.”

Be an answer to a million prayers

Hot on the heels of this fantastically successful fundraiser, Islamic Relief has now launched its Ramadhan 2007 appeal. The charity is looking to support over a million people this year, but needs your help to do so. You can donate to any of Islamic Relief’s global projects simply by phoning their UK based call-centre on 0800 520 0000; or by going to their website, which is www.islamic-relief.org.uk. The charity hopes that this year’s appeal will motivate people to answer the prayers of the more than a million people who the charity wants to help this year.

Can you volunteer for a good cause?

You can also volunteer for Islamic Relief by phoning the same number. The operator will put you in touch with your local fundraiser who will tell you how you can help.
