Islamic Relief is an international Non-Government Organisation (NGO) that was established in Birmingham, UK in 1984. It seeks to promote sustainable economic and social development by working with local communities through relief and development programmes.

In addition to emergency relief our programmes cover sustainable development, emergency relief and Orphan Support. Our focus areaa are: Afghanistan, Albania, Bangladesh, Bosnia, Egypt, Kosova, Indonesia, Iraq, Mali, Pakistan, Palestine, Sudan and Chechnya.

Islamic Relief has consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council (special category), signatories to the code of Conduct for the international Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and NGO's Disaster Relief, and members of British Overseas NGOs for Development (BOND).

Country Director -Chad

We currently have a vacancy for the position of Country Director - Chad. The post holder will consolidate IR strategy in the country office and provide strategic guidance and management to local staff. S(He) will outline the HR requirements of the programme, and periodically reassess to meet the short and long terms needs. The post holder will be responsible for strengthening IRW’s visibility and for forging new and improved relations and partnership with internal and external stakeholders. Humanitarian Funding & Compliance Coordinator

We are recruiting for a Humanitarian Funding & Compliance Coordinator to be based in Birmingham with moderate travel. Reporting to the Institutional Funding & Relationship Manager, the role will lead in relationships with emergency institutions (eg ECHO, DEC, UN) in order to influence policy, and maximise humanitarian funding.
