“I have nothing”: Mohammed’s story
Mohammed El Attar lives in Beit Lahia, north of the Gaza Strip. He has ten children and no way to support them after his farming land was bulldozed during recent conflict.
“All my children are small. I have only one teenager, but he cannot find work. Their mouths are open. They need to eat and drink and I can no longer afford to pay for it,” Mohammed says.
“I have nothing; no work and no income,” he adds.
Mohammed’s eldest son eighteen-year-old Nabil is a talented young man and he would like to go to university, but the family is too poor.
IR is the first humanitarian organisation to offer Mohammed and his family help.

“This food will feed my family for two weeks,” Mohammed tells IR as his wife unpacks the parcel in their empty kitchen.
