A better life for Ibrahim
Ibrahim Saleh Ahmed Abo Nasran is 12-years-old and lives in Sana’a, Yemen, with his mother Fergal Mohsen, his brother Mohamed and his sister Shaima’a. Ibrahim’s father died several years ago.
The family’s only source of income comes from renting out part of their home. This money does not cover even their basic living expenses and Ibrahim’s mother is forced to borrow money each month, pushing her further and further into debt.
The family’s kitchen is in the yard and is in a very bad condition. The house has no running water meaning the family have to buy expensive water tankers.
Ibrahim was diagnosed with Lymphoma in 2002. His mother Fergal finds it hard to pay for his medical costs and has had to borrow money in order to pay for his chemotherapy.
Fergal worries about paying back the money she owes, but thanks to an IR donor who now sponsors Ibrahim, Fergla is now able to pay for his check-ups without the need to borrow more money. She hopes for a better life for her son.
