Last Ramadhan IR distributed food packs to over 835,000 people in 23 countries.
Recipients included the destitute, elderly and disabled, widows, orphans, refugees and those affected by disasters or conflict. The packs allowed these people to celebrate Ramadhan along with millions of more fortunate Muslims across the world.
The contents of the pack varies slightly from region to region, but they contain culturally appropriate staple food items such as sugar, cooking oil, dates, rice, pasta, lentils, tea, coffee and tinned meats.
Due to the global food crisis Ramadhan 2008 poses an even greater challenge than usual. Spiralling food prices mean that more and more people face hunger and even starvation, meaning that more people than ever are in need of your help this Ramadhan.
