Cross Community Event
The purpose of the evening was, as ever, to bring local people together to celebrate the blessed month of Ramadan and open their fast. Indeed, not just Muslims – the whole community was invited to attend.

Inspirational Performances
The evening consisted of Nasheed performances by students and internationally-recognised local group Aashiq-Al-Rasul. Renowned scholars Sheikh Zahir Mahmood (As-Suffa Institute, Aston) and Mufti Abu Layth al Maliki (also known as Mufti Naeem) also attended, speaking about the need for humanity to care for each other and coexist peacefully as well as the importance of education.

Home Grown Talent
This was followed by Iftar and an opportunity for all those attending to eat and converse with fellow guests, finally – former school student Talha Masood (tipped as an upcoming Nasheed artist) finished off the evening .“The event was a great success, a wonderful opportunity to bring the school and community together”, said Mrs B Mabey – head teacher of the school.

Efforts Rewarded
Mr M Ilyas, summed up the general feeling between all the student and staff organisers: “It was a lot of hard work but the final event was worth every second and minute we put in”.

InshAllah, this wonderful event will take place again next year and continue to grow.

The school would like to thank sponsors Minhaj Ul Quran Masjid and Milat Auto Spares as well as Uwais Mansoor, Imran Khan (student organisers) and all the staff who played a key-role in the final event.
