It is hoped that even more women will join this years trek to the top, and therefore raise even more money for Islamic Relief’s ‘Action4Africa’ appeal. Last July, 70 Muslim women decided to challenge themselves beyond anything they had previously done.
The hard work started long before the event itself as they got fit enough to make the trek. It was difficult, it was challenging but it was also extremely worthwhile as they raised £15,000 for the Horn of Africa appeal.
Why should more sisters take part this year?

Zaid al-Rawni, the fundraiser for the West Midlands area says:
“The people of Africa desperately need our help now. This is an opportunity for women therefore to not only raise sponsorship money for the people of Africa; but to meet new people, as well as to do something completely different.
Although there will be some male volunteers there; the event is essentially women only. Women, who perhaps would ordinarily feel uncomfortable participating in mixed-sex activities, can now play an active role in changing the world”.
Would you like to take part this year?
