Project Overview

The project involves the construction of latrines, waste disposal systems, washing and water points, the distribution of hygiene kits and clean water and the testing of existing water sources.

Project Background

Project Objectives:

The project was intended to improve water and sanitation facilities in the area, in order to promote good health and hygiene.

Project Activities:

Installation of 110 water tanks and water points.

Carrying out water quality testing of existing wells and other water sources.

Distributing 2,00 jerry cans (two per family) containing 10 litres of water.

Carrying out pre and post KAP surveys

Distributing 1,250 hygiene kits

Installation of solid waste containers in each block

Mobilising communities for latrine construction

Digging of pits for latrines

Distribution of latrine slabs and tarpaulin sheets

Construction of 500 latrines

Supervising further latrine construction

Construction of 250 bathing places
