This project is a supplementary activity to Islamic Relief's Orphans General Fund.
The Orphans Education Programme started in
September 2001. The project was started to assist the orphans and their
families in their social life. Education
equips a person with values and strength to put in practice the day to day
decisions.
The programme aims to equip orphans with information
on how to conduct a healthy life, moral principles, how to identify their needs, how to avoid things that can damage their
life and health, how to plan for the future and how to
manage in times of difficulty.
This will be realised through teaching a
well-rounded curriculum to provide the people with principles, with the ability
to judge what is right and wrong and how to improve their life.
At the same time, orphans are provided
with general knowledge, computer skills and English language lessons. There are also entertainment activities such as picnics and artistic programmes.
